Harry Potter!

Jacob turned 11 on June 2 and decided to have a Harry Potter party. I found some tutorials for really cool wands and for some Harry Potter style science--Potions class with Professor Severus Scott:) We also have a CD that came with Heather's Harry Potter Flute music book that we played. It made for some really great background music. What great fun everyone had!

Our entry way with some cool pictures
I found online. The chocolate looking
sticks are the wands. Dowels and hot glue
and painted brown. (The desk looks funny
because we have some black lace on it.)

Harry Potter themed food!

The kids were sorted by Scott pulling
out a slip of paper from a black goblet with
their "houses" listed. This also became the
way we divided everyone into teams when
we needed teams. After they were sorted,
they chose their wand.

Potions Class.

Cauldron cake, butter beer, and chocolate frog:)

The boys casting spells on each other after the party.

i can't remember if this is a map of Hogwarts or the
marauders Map. But it's cool all the same:)The
kids also went home with a spell book I put
together ( found on the internet:)
